Email Marketing

So you have your website live, you’ve provided awesome content which has gained you followers and subscribers, now you need to make sure you keep them reading by way of email….Perhaps you’re spending a lot of time each week crafting emails to your subscribers, but none of that will do you any good if you don’t have a decent delivery rate. If those emails land in your potential customers’ spam folders, you don’t have much of a chance of making a sale or building a relationship with them.

Many Internet entrepreneurs start out building their business on the side. They have a regular job, a busy life, lots of personal and business commitments, and very little time to work on building their list. If this sounds familiar, you will appreciate what you're about to read. The following tips for getting more email list subscribers can be rolled out quickly, most of them in 5 minutes or less. Give them a try!
Learn how Not to land in Spam

Add an Opt-In Form to Your Email Signature
This is super simple, and can be set up with most email programs in a couple of minutes. Now every email you send out as a chance of adding someone to your list.

Turn Your Blog Posts into Opt-In Lead Magnets
Check your Google Analytics to find your most popular post. Copy that URL. Head over to PrintFriendly.com. Paste your blog post's URL into the "Print Preview" section at the top of the page. Click the "PDF" button, and then click "Download”. That's it. You have just created an opt-in bribe in about 30 seconds.

"Sign up" Button to Your Facebook Account
On your business's Facebook page, click the "Create Call to Action" button. Choose the "Sign Up" button. Link to your opt-in page.

Write in the First Person
Your call to action button text should be written in the first person. "Start My Free Trial" always pulls better than "Start Free Trial" or "Start Your Free Trial".

Pop-Ups Work Wonders, So Use Them
Adding an exit-intent pop-up to your landing page can improve conversions and sign-ups considerably. There are plenty of WordPress pop-up plug-ins that are free to use.

Put Your Testimonials Front and Centre
Social proof is an outstanding way to build your email list. Put at least one great testimonial above the fold, and make it noticeable. This simple move can increase conversions substantially.

Simplify and Minimalize
Clean up your website. Remove bothersome distractions. A simple, clean, clutter-free website allows you to direct your reader's attention wherever you want to, in this case, to your opt-in form.

Don't Ask for Too Much Information
Evidence has shown that asking for just an email address on your opt-in form is a high conversion practice. People are super sensitive these days concerning Internet security. Accordingly, they don't expect you to ask for a lot of information in return for your opt-in gift

Using a reputable auto responder service is the single best thing you can do to improve your chances of avoiding spam folders. Companies like Aweber, Mail Chimp and Get Response work hard at making sure they are white listed with the big Internet Service Providers and email providers like Gmail.

GetResponse GetResponse is a feature-rich email marketing solution, fully scalable and capable of handling both small and very large lists (1 million+ subscribers). For over 10 years, it has provided easy-to-use, self-service applications and expert support for creating and managing email and video marketing campaigns, newsletters, and auto responders that convert contacts into customers

Aweber  Aweber develops and runs an opt-in email marketing service used by over 120,000+ small businesses, bloggers and entrepreneurs around the globe and includes a 30day free trial. Features include send Email Newsletters, Website Sign Up Forms, Collect & Manage Subscribers, Auto responder Follow Ups, Performance Tracking and Expert Customer Support

Groupmail This popular group email software is currently helping people in over 160 countries to send stylish email newsletters, promote awesome products and strengthen important relationships. They have a one off payment fee, with no monthly charges and no Per Message charge. Features include Group Email Software, Easy List Management, Privacy Guaranteed, Real-Time Email Tracking, Popular CRM Integration and HTML Design Freedom

Mailchimp Mailchimp has a range of features to create, manage and deliver emails and auto responders. Customise the perfect email for your business. They offer advanced reporting features you can access anywhere. Monitor sales and website activity with revenue reports.
A couple of other good habits to develop would be;

Use “foreshadowing” in your messages. For example, toward the end of your current broadcast email, mention that they can look for another email from you next Tuesday. Once you’ve set those expectations do what you can to meet them, do your best to keep your promise and email when your readers expect it.

Clean up your list regularly. If subscribers haven’t been opening your emails for the past six months, chances are good they are no longer interested in what you have to offer. Check your auto responder services manual or help files to see how you can go about deleting anyone that hasn’t opened an email from you in the past six months. If that freaks you out, or you have a seasonal business, start by deleting anyone that hasn’t looked at your emails in the past year.
Following these tips and keeping an eye on email deliverability in general will make sure your emails are being read by your subscribers and that’s the point of email marketing, isn’t it?

Good luck!

Blogging with Blogger

Blog This! Blog That! These days it seems that more people are turning to blogs to find information they need, especially when they are looking for industry news, insights, commentary, or simply a perspective on an issue. I started one to share my journey with others and hopefully make a little bit of cash in the process. Ideally, I just like getting the information out there in my words.

For the newbies, (And there is nothing wrong with that, I was a newbie not so long ago!), A Blog is a short name for "Weblog" and it’s basically a website that you can get for free and use for multiple different things.

In another one of my posts, I have listed several of the free webpage building sites where you can get yours up and started almost immediately (see The Next Step - Marketing post that I’ve written) but the one I will be basing this post off today, is Blogger. This is a blog that you can get for FREE from Blogger.com. They are owned and operated by Google, so if you have a Gmail account or a Google Account, you can use your same login name and password as that to log in and you don't even have to create a new account! This was the first thing that grabbed my attention with them. I have a terrible habit of having several passwords and 9 times out of 10, I forget which one I have used for what. Being able to log in with an account I already have makes is a lot easier for me.

Why Blogger?
I trust them, I find them easy to use, I find that they don’t have many server issues (actually, I haven’t found any issues with them at all) and the elements that can be added are a lot easier to access and publish onto my page. Adding forms to my page is child’s play and linking it to all of my social media pages is such a convenience. Once I have finished my posts, I can easily share them via Facebook, Google+, Twitter etc. They have a great range of templates to cater for most needs with awesome graphics. Basically, they would be the ones I would say to go to if you’re new to blogging. I’ve tried Wix, Weebly and WordPress, but this is the one I’ll be choosing to stick with.

OK, so that’s the gist of it. Let me give you details and instructions so that you can start doing this right away.

You can be up and running in just minutes! If you do not have an account with Google already, you can create one for free, at Blogger or Gmail.com. If you don't have a Google Mail account already (Gmail, AdWords, AdSense) you will have to create one, but that is 100% free. Once you log in to blogger.com, you can create a blog right away! You get your own domain name that will look something like this:

www.YourDomainName.Blogspot.com

Of course, you would replace "YourDomainName" with whatever you want your URL to be. Most of the time, people choose keywords that are popular search terms on, so that the blog ranks higher on the search engines.
Now you’re ready to start writing…. Next step is to "Create a Blog" section, by clicking on the "Create a Blog" link.
A draft page will open up and this is where you will put in your text. In the toolbar you can see the different options including font size and type, adding links or images to your post. Add a caption to your image by clicking on the image and the options menu displays beneath it with ‘Add Caption’.
Once you’re happy with what you’ve typed up, click on the Preview button (top right corner) and see how your new post will be viewed by others.

Are you happy with how it looks? Cool, now we want to choose the Publish button (in case you have edited it somewhat, the option will be ‘Update’) and make it live for the world to see.

Once you have done that, the next step is traffic! You don't just want any traffic going to your site, you want targeted traffic. Targeted traffic are visitors who are actually interested in the product that you are blogging about. They’re in the market for what you are offering basically. That is the beauty of niche blogging...you find the people who need what you are offering and you simply give it to them. Increasing readership of your blog will take time, marketing, and quality posting on a regular basis.

The way to drive targeted traffic to your review blog is to write articles for it and submit them to Ezinearticles.com. These article directories are the top, most popular ones and rank very well on the search engines --especially Ezinearticles.com. If you write articles in the niches that you are promoting, and you give away some good information and of course include a link to your review blog in your resource box at the end of each article, you will have targeted traffic to your blog, which will convert into sales, which means you will earn affiliate commissions!

There you have it. Good luck and I wish you the best of success with your blogging.
Just before I sign off, I was wondering….
Are you looking at monetizing your blog?
If you said “Yes!” to that question, then you need to use the formula below.
RB + AL + AM + T = $$$.
You might be saying, what is that?
That is the fastest and easiest way to make money with a blog. And you don’t need to be a scientist to be able to carry it out :)
Subscribe now to read my next post where I’ll explain the formula above and how best to put it into practice.
Hope to see you in the list soon.

The Next Step - Marketing

After blogging for a couple of months now, I thought it's time to take this to the next step. Testing the theories of online marketing. I have seen and heard the all too familiar phrase now and the curiosity has piqued. You know what phrase I mean, yeah?

"Make money working from the comfort of your own home!"

How many times have you heard that phrase? I've heard it more often than not and decided to look a little bit more into it, who knows and what could it hurt? I found that it's used so much because marketers know that staying home and making money is the fondest dream of millions of people. So when someone offers an opportunity or plan for you to take your job and shove it, yet still make enough money to live and pay all your bills, it sounds blissfully irresistible, doesn’t it?
Of course, bliss and reality are always two different things. Is it really possible to run a business from your own home that is more than a hobby or source of part-time income? Can you get rich working out of your own home? Well, I certainly wouldn't say rich, but I make claim that it helps to get ahead.

Believe it or not, home-based businesses are one of the fastest growing kinds of enterprises today.
We live in a unique time in history. Satellites, fiber optics, the integrated circuit and other communications miracles means that you can be just about anywhere in the developed world and establish communication with anyone.

If you're anything like I am....sorry, was...you'd still be pretty skeptical about whether or not all the spiels were just wishful thinking. I can say now that it is true! Online income can be gained through surveys, focus groups, affiliate programs, freelance writings, product reviews, article submissions, monetized blogs…the list could go on!

So, how do you go about it? I hope to be able to help you with that and also share my experiences along the way, good and bad. What I am also hoping to do is show you the ones that do pay in the world of online earning through links. and provide you with the one stop place for all your information!

First thing's first...

Find Your Niche!
When you are considering starting an online company, you want to make sure you find the right product. What do you want to sell? What is your passion? What subject or topic do you have a lot of knowledge about? Let me start by telling you that selling an information product online is easier than selling a service. But, selling a service online makes more money with monthly memberships.
Before you spend all your time working on a website and writing up eBooks, you want to be sure that your customers are going to be interested in what you are selling. Do your market research. Start by seeing how many competitors you have. Read through newsgroups, discussion boards, and chat rooms and learn about your target market customer base. If you already have an email list, send them a survey to see what they are most interested in.

When researching your niche, you may want to use www.Amazon.com and find the current top sellers.  Find out what people are reading about. You will want to research keywords with keyword tools such as www.wordtracker.com. You need to discover which keywords are being searched for frequently.

Build Your Website
When you are trying to make money through promoting articles and affiliate links, you will need a good, simple, and easy to navigate website to put them on. There are two ways that you can accomplish this: you can try to do it yourself if you have any web design skills or you can hire someone. There are plenty of free website building sites that make it a lot easier for those that don’t understand coding.
Here is a few that help make building your own site a breeze.

When a customer visits your website, you have roughly ten seconds to capture their attention, so you think carefully about what you want to include. Add interesting posts to entice your visitors to stay and read, and even add a call to action button to start building your email lists, making it easier to stay in touch with visitors and let them know about upcoming products or services available.

For most people, affiliate programs will be their primary monetization method for their lists. There are two major categories of products you can promote as an affiliate – digital products and physical products.
There are thousands of different programs you could promote in each market, with millions of individual products available.

Well, that's it for the first step, I hope this has helped you and look forward to hearing any comments.
